Core Team
James Hindson worked as a secondary school teacher for eight years and an ESD trainer with the Field Studies Council, an environmental NGO, l for 18 years before starting Sense & Sustainability Training, with Ken Webster in 2008. As a teacher James wrote a number of text books including a GCSE Geography text for pupils in Wales and in the FSC was responsible for managing a range of projects working in over twenty countries.
Ken Webster has published many books on ESD through WWF and the FSC and his most recent book is Sense & Sustainability written with Craig Johnson and with a foreword by Jonathon Porritt. His previous book, Rethink, Refuse Reduce... published by the FSC was tremendously well reviewed in the UK, is now in a second edition and is available in five languages.
Associate Team
Aleksandra Zaparucha from Toru?, Poland, is a freelance Geography and English teacher and educator with over 20 years' experience, including CLIL courses since 2003. She has co-operated with Macmillan, British Council, Field Studies Council, Geographical Association, HERODOT Network and the Association of Polish Adult Educators at various projects, courses and publications. She has translated four Polish Geography textbooks into English and published in Polish, British and Irish magazines on Geographical and language issues. Presently, she is working on her first textbook for teaching Physical Geography through English.
Anna Batorczak has a background in environmental biology and over the last twelve years has been working at University of Warsaw in the field of environmental education and education for sustainable development. This has involved developing educational materials, activities, games and thematic websites as well as organising and leading training for a range of professional groups. Anna is also an experienced project manager and has also published sustainable development materials for school students. At a political level Anna is a member of Polish Working Group for UN Decade on ESD.
